Politically Organizing - The bane of the American Conservative
When politically organizing one of the key tenets you must address is the element of time (duration) that your organization or structure expects to exist. Do you expect to create an organization that is going to be around for years? Or will this organization will be short term?
If the organization is expected to be around for some time, let's say you plan on hammering a national issue until it's changed at the federal level, that organization is radically different than one organized for a short term local solution. Understanding this time element is one of the fundamental piece of information you must settle on when forming your organization.
The main task then is to organize, fund, and prepare for one single event that puts your work product on the national stage at the exact moment needed. Too early, and your cause falls apart. Too late, and the issue may already be solidified against you.
Take the large scale, yearly women's march progressives organize in DC each year. They plan for a single powerful blow to the system to create the change they want. It provides them the entire national spotlight for that time.
The media goes crazy, every network from CNN to FOX is covering the event. Even independents like RSBN and OAN show up. It becomes the national focal point. Every water-cooler around the country is talking about it the next day, and for some time afterward, regardless of whether the conversations are singing its praises or condemning them as participants of a color revolution.
This is drastically different than an organization that will only exist in a small, defined timeframe. Such a short lived organization doesn't have the power, money, or resources to strike at the system the way a large, million person march does.
Small organizations have to create chaos and interfere with as many of the efforts of the established order at a single time as is possible. They also have to operate at the highest possible tension at all times.
They must be capable of a broad range of operations, and seek to throw the opposition into turmoil and confusion rather than perfect their own organization. Take for example progressives militant arm of Antifa.
They strike at police on multiple fronts, create chaos, disappear, and reappear to do it again. They do this multiple times across a city or district while police simply attempt to respond. By the time police move to the event, form up, and move to engage the militants, the bulk of the militants have already dispersed and are reforming to cause havoc elsewhere.
This same idea can be applied in a non-violent political manner when having small groups pop up to address an issue in dozens of different places all at the same time across a given area. This throws the system in to turmoil as it tries to keep up with the movement.
By the time they get a handle on things the small groups disperse having met their objective of creating a visible, vocal presence during an otherwise unexpected time. The American Progressives do this really well. The American Conservatives don't do this at all.
Think about how many times groups of 50-200 BLM members showed up in what are otherwise small to midsized cities to march. A place where nothing nationally had really even gone on. This map shows how small, diffuse operations can have a big impact on the national narrative. By the time local authorities, news crews, and even the local population had a handle on what was happening the events were halfway over or culminating.
When considering to organize politically an accurate appraisal of the time element is absolutely critical. Short term vs long term. Misunderstanding this key element can be an absolute disaster for any movement.
