I recently watched a horrible video in which a young girl from an Indianapolis suburb challenged the teachings of her school in front of the school board, specifically those of Critical Race Theory and the perverse Sexual teaching going on in federally funded public schools. The child has a background of foster care, severe emotional trauma, and potentially sexual trauma. She is clearly broken in several regards, and doing her best hold it together and better her life through meaningful educational experiences. I’ll link it here because it’s just difficult to describe without having watched it.
People may disagree with me, but I am of the firm belief that the discussion of race is one of the most academically empty subjects a person can engage in. The fact that it has taken center stage in K-12 Education, as well as University is the capital achievement of the least noble and most vacuous among us. I view it as a subject of pertinence for those unable to master greater topics, and appealing to the most ignoble among us due to the power narratives involved around it rather than the academic integrity or validity of the subject. My view is that there is only one race and that is the Human Race. And I think that if you wish to study it you should become an Anthropologist.
Ava Petrucci recently made a general statement about her thoughts on Whiteness Studies and the disbelief she holds around this being considered actual scholarship, and true academia. I couldn’t agree more. And, I posit that just because these things are taught within the halls of academia, and referenced as scholarship doesn’t make them Academic in nature. This is exemplified by the analogy of the mouse in the horse barn living among horses. Just because a field mouse lives his life within a horse barn only among horses, does not make him a horse. Even if those who come in to the horse barn that tend to the horses refer to the mouse as a horse, he is still a mouse. If they toss horse feed to the mouse every day just as they do the horses, he is still a mouse. And if they build a small saddle, capture the field mouse and place the saddle across his back, he is still a mouse. At no time does the calling or treating of the mouse as horse make the mouse a horse. He is and always will be a mouse. The same goes with Whiteness Studies, and the larger Critical Race Theory that is so often cited as the future of every Academic avenue.
Whiteness Studies and the aligned Critical Race Theory are largely fraudulent subjects framing themselves as scholarship. Lets look at a few simple actions through the lens of Critical Race Theory and try to call a mouse a horse. If a white family leaves a neighborhood, and we study this move under the guise of Critical Race Theory, we can come to the understanding that this is due to White Flight. White Flight is racism. On the other hand, if a white family moves in to a neighborhood, and we utilize that same lens, we can discover that this is gentrification, which is also racist. If a white person admits that, yes, in encounters with minorities they see color, that is racism. When a white person says, I don’t see race really. I just consider the person based upon who they are, and how they treat people. Well, that’s ignoring racism. And that’s racist. If a white person doesn’t partake in certain aspects of culture, that is non-inclusive. Being non-inclusive is racist. And if you are engaging in culture that you didn’t grow up with or is minority based, well, that’s cultural appropriation. And that’s racist.
No matter what we examine, so long as we examine it under the fraudulent lens that are Whiteness Studies or Critical Race Theory we come to a predetermined outcome. It doesn’t challenge us mentally or academically, and it doesn’t provide a level of scholarship worthy of study. There is no need to actually study any topic, the application of Critical Race Theory tells us all we need to know. It’s racist. We just have to pick something out of thin air, apply the fraudulent lens, and Bam! We’ve colored it racist.
The Podcast TheMPerspective just did a show on this, where the host goes through a litany of random subjects that have had this fraudulent lens applied, and sure enough, the outcome is that each random subject is deemed racist: Fried Chicken, Classical Music, the Water in Virginia, Horses, Ghosts, Manicured Lawns, Birds, Strawberries, Breast Cancer, Reading Glasses, Pedicures, Autonomous Vehicles, Recycling, Master Bedrooms, and the list just goes on, and on. It doesn’t take any scholarship or academic study to apply this fraudulent theory to a topic. It simply takes a desire to undermine that which you are applying it to. Because that’s all Critical Race Theory really does. It undermines that which currently exists so that it may then be replaced with whatever those proponents of Critical Race Theory decide. And if we are to be certain about anything, it is that if we are to replace something we must replace it with something of value. Otherwise, collapse and pugilistic disorder are imminent.
The study of race, and the current application of Critical Race Theory is the most mentally short topic in discussion today. Those whose lives and livelihoods depend upon the continual application of this fraudulent theory are also those who are incapable of studying or furthering REAL Academic subjects of Merit and Scholarship. If anything should be categorically undermined, it should be the credibility of Critical Race Theory proponents as a mouse is never a horse.
