For decades, Western Pravda has put forth miserable conjecture and fanciful supposition under the guise of fact-based journalism whose effect has been the suppression of information to the masses leaving them with no means of distinguishing the driven narrative from the facts, the latter of which are increasingly in short order. The truth in Newspapers and Legacy Media, or Fake News as they are now known, maintains a density and appearance of that which is similar to balsa wood. It looks like wood, it is wood, but it crumbles at the first bit of applied pressure and is unable to stand up to the least bit of working scrutiny. The falsehoods have become so prevalent as of today that I rarely think them worth reading, and would never take time to examine them if it weren’t for the need to point out the erroneous propaganda so many fall prey to. To attempt to build anything worth taking to Sea from such a wood would be fool-hearty and certainly disastrous to all parties involved. Yet, here we are cast adrift in such a vessel in a Sea of Media disinformation.
Throughout the weekend I spent some time posting a thread of commonly accepted mainstream talking points, which have at one point or another been the vehicle to push the driven narrative into the minds of viewers. The thread is in no way comprehensive, but details some of the more memorable and newsworthy headlines. What this was attempting to demonstrate is the boiling of the frog metaphor where people tend not to react or seem aware of sinister threats that arise gradually rather than those that spring up in sudden fashion. We’re all aware of protesters who pop-up onto city streets, blocking intersections, smashing vehicles and assaulting drivers. This is an acute threat and people respond and react as is necessary to survive the encounter. What we tend not to react to are the gradual threats. The daily misinformation put forth by those mendacious journalists and their masters. Little to nothing can now be believed which is put forth by the legacy media. Even truth, when it finds its way into their narrative, is seen with a level of suspicion equal to that of known and blatant lies. The vast and reaching extent of this misinformation and disinformation is typically only known to two categories of people: those who were present and have the facts to confront the lies; and those who read what is written or hear what is spoken and now take the opposite to be true at every instance.
I have come to deplore the rotten state with which legacy media currently exists and the malignant, perverse, and revolting inner self of those who write, and present for them. What this level of Pravda has done is destroyed the palate of those which consume it, lessening their acceptance of truth, and increasing their desire for a strict diet of this unhealthy nourishment. It has reached an order of magnitude that Goebbels himself could not have imagined, and has entered the Orwellian ‘Ingsoc’ world of Winston, where he spent his days at the Records Department in the Ministry of Truth altering the past to control the present.
We now have a large section of the nation who are not to blame for the proliferation of Newspeak and malignant lies, but are the victims of the largest propaganda exercise in the history of mankind. No people on earth have ever been subjected to such levels of altered reality at such a rate or volume as those who experience Western Media. And that so many defend the media and lash out at those who condemn it as ‘fake news’ is no wonder. Stockholm Syndrome is to be applied here. We are living with a nation of victims who have, over years and decades, come to desire and require their daily dosing of Huxleyan media ‘Soma’. They have been dosed so many times that they now identify with and are attached to the very media sources which kidnapped their mind and demanded they limit and shape their views of the world to fit the allowable narrative. Such bonding isn’t to be broken easily, and we as Western civilization are neither equipped with the appropriate tools, nor ready to deal with the aftermath of what happens should they become aware en masse. No tools, no solution, no plan of care post resolution. We are indeed at an impasse as a society.
Quillette posted an article that does a nice job at explaining what has likely happened to Western media over the years but, in my opinion, doesn’t speak as it should to the dishonorable and wicked intent behind those who control the narrative. Our Government, the Tech Politburo, and the Legacy Media have established, and utilized to grand affect, a standing army of news bureaus and false voices who have undermined the foundations of stable society. Without regard to truth or to what should even appear as truth, they have placed into the papers and on the newsreels whatever might suit their leadership and further consolidate power. And make no mistake, the aim for all large organizations is the consolidation of power to further their ends. It is one thing to play the game well, it is an entirely different thing to change the rules, redefine the truth, and step outside of the role of participant and into the role of omnipotent arbiter.
As Thomas Jefferson once said, “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
Where we go from here is known but to God. But I suspect the righting of the ship in an ocean of media lies grows less likely with each day. However, I intend to stay aboard and try.
